Way Yin, M.D. is the founder of Bellingham Spine Pain Specialists and one of the world's leading experts in the evidence-based application of minimally invasive interventional techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of spine-related pain. Dr. Yin has developed new and successful ways to treat sacroiliac joint disorders, cervicogenic headaches and thoracic spine pain, has published numerous journal articles and textbook chapters, and lectures worldwide on topics related to the field of interventional pain management.

Dr. Yin is active in research and education on topics related to spine pain, and long served as a member of the Board of Directors for the International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS), and is a past president of the society. He has served on numerous Task Forces and Committees for governmental agencies and the North American Spine Society and other scientific societies, and lectures frequently for scientific and educational societies as well as academic training programs.

Dr. Yin also serves on the editorial panel for the Spine Section of the peer-reviewed journal Pain Medicine .

Dr. Yin received his M.D. from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York City and trained in General Surgery and Anesthesiology at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is Board certified in Pain Management, Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology.

In his spare time, Dr. Yin enjoys flyfishing, teaching fly casting and playing the guitar. He devotes a large portion of his free time to charitable causes, including Discover Courage , a non-profit orgnization that works with members and veterans of our Special Operations Forces suffering chronic pain and PTSD.
